BAE Systems Corporation presented its new multi-purpose frigate “Adaptive Attack Frigate” model. frigate model showed at the international maritime exhibition Euronaval 2022. This frigate is primarily offered to the British Navy. The Adaptive Assault Frigate is said to have a gross displacement of around 6,000 tons and a length of 130m. BAE Systems says the platform price for ASF will be around £250-300m.

The main crew of the frigate will consist of only 60 people, excluding the operators of the target loads. Armament of the ship in the model in the nose has a universal vertical launcher with 8 containers for anti-ship and cruise missiles.

The ship is also equipped with SAMM anti-aircraft missiles, 57 mm BAE Systems Bofors Mk 3 artillery mounts and two 40 mm BAE Systems Bofors Mk 4 artillery mounts on the sides, as well as 24 vertical launchers of the Sea Ceptor air defense system. In the stern there is a hangar for a helicopter and helicopter aircraft. It is possible to pick up a transport helicopter on the helipad.

Details about the main power plant “ASF” have not been disclosed, but for now the concept includes a diesel-electric and diesel combined plant.
