Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said this in an interview with Forbes, Ukrinform reports.
“Now there are contracts for 1,033 drones – almost 2 billion UAH. About 70% of them have already been received. The rest will be delivered by the end of the year. We are establishing a new batch worth hundreds of millions of hryvnia, according to the requests of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense in general ” said.
Fedorov announced that there are about 20 FlyEye complexes, which are important for the Ukrainian artillery, within the contracted unmanned aerial vehicles. They will come in a few months.
“Now the NATO complexes Puma and Penguin are also under contract. They are needed for reconnaissance of our modern artillery. We will get them before the new year. We also received a batch of Polish Warmate attack aircraft and we are contracting one more,” added the head of the Ministry of Information.
As reported, “UAV Army” is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Digital. This is a comprehensive program for the systematic purchase and repair of drones and the training of relevant specialists. The project started on 1 July.
