A dealer in Russia is always bankrupt, a bandit and living on credit. The dealership owner is a credit millionaire. Certainly under the control of security forces and bandits: sometimes it’s the same, sometimes it’s a change of roof on the way to making the company more sustainable. You will not find ordinary dealers who simply sell and maintain cars in Russia. Even made without the permission of the security forces, the dealer still receives a mandatory workload in the state – the spectator. And then roofing. Whoever refuses these options immediately loses his business, but sometimes also his freedom and health.
It is impossible to sustainably and for a long time maintain a dealer center in Russia only at the expense of legal matters. Therefore, the sale of cars is necessarily associated with the manipulation of sales results, the imposition of services, forced purchases, overpriced, theft and fraud. In addition, official bodies that carry out inspections and levy taxes are fed from the dealer.
Taxes are paid directly and indirectly by the dealer when the chief accountant receives a proposal before the start of the audit: five (ten, fifteen) million rubles fine immediately and then without verification, or a fine for the violations that we find (invent) and on top the same five million, but already in the form of a rollback.
In addition to the tax authorities, the dealer feeds the territorial police, consumer control, migration service, fire brigade, etc. – to unobtrusive environmentalists. Therefore, any news about the purchase by a particular dealer of a car factory owned by car manufacturers fleeing Russia will always look rather strange. The “roof” of a car dealership can a priori not be so rich to produce cars. It helps well in competitive and related wars, but is completely unsuitable for productive creation.
It is clear, therefore, that behind any deal to sell a car factory to a puny dealer is a devious game of dodgy transfer of control of the company to the management of a loyal legal entity, with the owners of whom it was possible to the continuation of activities. Such a dealer will not interfere, but he cannot help. There is no money, no skill, no scale.
Since foreign companies in Russia no longer need assembly plants, and some of them have been set up under pressure from the Russian authorities, such a “sale” appears to be an attempt to delay the end and obtain legal grounds for the current pause. There is no point in producing cars anymore, but it is too early to put an end to it.
If car dealers really went into production, they would go out of business right away. And in the configuration of undercover deals, there is an opportunity to monetize silence, consent and the seal on documents.
