The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope photographed the irregular dwarf galaxy UGC 7983 in the constellation Virgo.

This was reported by the observatory, reported Ukrinform.

UGC 7983 is about 30 million light-years from Earth.

Dwarf irregular galaxies are cosmic objects with an inhomogeneous luminosity distribution in the image. These galaxies are similar to regular irregular galaxies, but smaller in size.

It is noted that a small asteroid with a diameter of several kilometers can be seen in the upper left corner of this image. The asteroid trail can be seen as four bands of light separated by small gaps.

A number of galaxies, including ellipticals and bright stars, can be seen in the background of UGC 7983.

As Ukrinform reports, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope photographed the amorphous galaxy LEDA 48062 in the constellation Perseus.
