According to Corning, maker of Gorilla Glass, Victus 2 is more resistant to drops on rough surfaces such as concrete.without sacrificing risk protection. In lab tests, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has withstood a drop from a height of up to one meter onto a rough surface that mimics concrete. “Victus 2 continued to withstand drops of up to two meters onto an asphalt-like surface and retained scratch resistance four times better than competing aluminosilicate,” the company said in a statement.

In addition, the protective glass has received an eco-label, as at least 22% of each screen is made from recycled materials. Stephanie Choi, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung, commented on the partnership between the two companies: “We are committed to sustainability throughout the product lifecycle, working with partners like Corning to improve performance and reduce our environmental footprint. . Our next generation Galaxy smartphones are the first devices to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for enhanced durability and stability.”

Corning’s press release has not officially revealed whether other smartphones will feature the new, more stable screen. At the moment, the S23 line has already been confirmed, and during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked we will be able to officially see it.

The Galaxy S23 line has become more expensive

Expectations for the Galaxy S23 launch are high, but unfortunately the prices of the devices will rise significantly. However, the base device of the line will cost 959 euros in the most basic model, which means an increase of 100 euros compared to the Galaxy S22.
