Although the company did not disclose the exact number of deleted posts, internal sources confirm that the Brazilian division of Google employs more than a thousand employees. When asked by Fogli about the decision, Google Brasil confirmed the layoffs but did not provide further details on the matter.

Alphabet Leader, Sundar Pichai, announced in a statement to employees this January that the company has reassessed its products, people and priorities, resulting in job cuts across regions and industries. In his message, the CEO of Alphabet stressed the need to reposition the company to ensure its long-term sustainability and success.

Focus on artificial intelligence

Tech giant Google has been focusing on improving its field of generative artificial intelligence, and this Monday, February 6, it announced that it will open public trials of its own technology to compete with ChatGPT, also known as the Bard robot. The company hopes to launch an intelligent chatbot capable of interacting with users and giving accurate answers.

However, during the first presentation of Google’s artificial intelligence technology, the chatbot made a significant mistake, as a result of which the company’s shares fell by 8% that day.
