China has successfully launched the Shiyan-19 experimental Earth remote sensing satellite into Earth orbit.
As reported by Ukrinform, Xinhua reported it.
The satellite was launched from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the north of the country using the Long March-11 launch vehicle, marking the 16th consecutive successful launch of the launch vehicle.
The start took place at 13:41 Kiev time.
The Shiyan-19 satellite was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and is intended for land surveying, urban planning and natural disaster prevention.
The Long March-11 four-stage solid-fuel launch vehicle is approximately 21 meters long and weighs 57.7 tons, reaching a maximum diameter of two meters. It is designed to launch small spacecraft into low Earth orbit with a payload of up to 500 kg.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 13, China successfully launched a new Earth remote sensing satellite from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the northwest of the country using the Long March-2C launch vehicle.
