Looking at the market for new and used car parts, I want to pull the last hair from the top of my head: the prices for headlights, chrome, “body” are simply prohibitive. But some parts don’t need an accident to become unusable: the same chrome just flies around on its own, the headlights are overwritten and cloudy no matter how the car is used. There is only one way out: to preserve what is already there by all means. This is what paraffin is for.
The May holidays are over, the first trip to the dacha/river/barbecue has been made by almost all car owners. And then we ran into a classic spring problem: on the hood, grille and headlights – a whole cemetery of bugs. And the good old rags will scratch a lot, which will also eventually lead to the need to replace the part. Well, a new radiator grill for a few tens of thousands of rubles or tricks with “anti-chrome”? There is a much easier way!
All front springs – headlights, bumper, grille, as well as plastic “tangles” of rearview mirrors can be covered with ordinary paraffin. You don’t even need to light a candle: rub the necessary elements and then simply polish with a soft cloth. This forms a thin protective layer on the surface, which causes dirt to roll off faster in the first place. And secondly, it is washed away along with all the insects at the very first pressure washer.
The operation is actually simple and fast, and there are still a lot of candles left, so we can use paraffin in other directions. A good option are door locks, which begin to creak from time to time. You don’t need to disassemble anything, you just need to apply a thick layer of candle to the plastic and then open and close the door several times. It will work much better, softer and above all without extraneous noises. Do you want a clean rear window and rear-view mirrors? Apply paraffin and polish! Water and dirt roll off without settling on the surface and the coating lasts a long time.
There are many uses for a candle in a car, but the relevance of each (as well as the complexity) is assessed by the driver himself. However, the point is the same for everyone: it is much easier and cheaper to keep what you already have than running through shops and confrontations in search of a new or not so shabby used one.
Sanctions, disruption of logistics and other tectonic shifts have had a major impact on the car market – some spare parts are simply impossible to find. So what is available now should be treated as carefully as possible. They just have to “still be like”.
