How they take away “rights” from a torn-off filling hole at a gas station
Every motorist is sure that through his own forgetfulness, he (she) will certainly never tear off the filler neck at the gas station. However, a “hole” can happen to any “old woman”. Therefore, just in case, you need to remember all the legal nuances of such a situation.

Contrary to popular belief, hoses at gas stations are not just “driving blonde”. The most banal option: I refueled, paid, forgot to pull the gun from the neck and went with it to the right. From the point of view of traffic rules, such an incident is considered a full-fledged accident – since a moving car caused damage and material damage to an object (gas station). Refueling pistols cost 7,000-20,000 rubles. The amount of damage to the gas station will fall within these limits, if you leave and later find a protruding rammer in the gas tank of your car, you can’t think of anything better than to just throw it away.

And for leaving the scene of an accident, you will definitely be deprived of your “rights”, since all gas stations are equipped with video surveillance, and it will not be difficult for the traffic police to find a car by license plates that are captured with cameras. But even if you did not leave the gas station with a torn off filler neck, but stayed to solve this problem on the spot, it is not a fact that the “rights” still remain with you. In such cases, gas station employees “roll out” a motorist with a demand to pay for the damage for a torn-off pistol in an amount comparable to the significant amounts mentioned above.

Although, in fact, the gun itself does not suffer from such incidents. The fact is that in this case a special break coupling is activated, which is mandatory on the hoses of any fuel pump – only for such cases.

Usually they are reusable – they make it possible to tear off and reinstall the gun repeatedly. Knowing this, it’s a shame to pay gas stations for virtually non-existent damage. But throwing a gun under a gas station attendant’s feet (seemingly repairing the damage) and leaving it in their hearts isn’t the case either. Because in this case you are considered to have fled the scene of the accident.

There is another option: together with the service station employee, draw up a law on the damage to the property of the service station, which will accurately indicate the time, place and circumstances of the incident, as well as the amount of monetary compensation for the damage you have caused. The law should state that the representatives of the gas station have no claims against you and are not going to call the traffic police on the spot. It also indicates the name and position of the gas station employee involved in the preparation of the operation. In theory, this should be enough to insure you against possible deprivation of rights after you leave the gas station.

But here too there is a catch. No one guarantees that after you leave, the employees will not decide to divide your money among themselves and then inform their superiors that you have not paid. Which in turn will lead to claims from the traffic police.

Therefore, the most reliable thing for a driver who has torn off a filling nozzle is to call the traffic police to the scene of a “terrible accident” yourself. When the police arrive, they will repair the minimum real damage to the gas station (or the absence of it). If he does not come, and the employee tells you by telephone that you must draw up a deed, that is also fine: there can no longer be any question of leaving the scene of the accident.
