Discount time: spare parts and other goods from China will soon become much cheaper
The past year was characterized by shortages in almost all branches: old suppliers left and new ones did not arrive. However, there was another major, if not the most important, issue: logistics. Not only was the Russian transhipment capacity on the Asian side not enough, container prices also did not want to fall since the pandemic. But in the first quarter of 2023, everything changed. And this means only one thing – the final prices of goods will fall significantly. Why, explains the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

Since February 2022, the cost of spare parts and consumables for the car has increased dramatically. And this is understandable: the official representations of brands and the warehouses associated with them quickly became empty due to the complete cessation of stocks. China, able to replace everyone, “stuck” in a pandemic, and logistics in Russia – we have a large, but poorly equipped country with roads – literally collapsed. The operators themselves turned out to be unprepared for the arrival of thousands of small parties instead of dozens of large ones. Thus, the market plunged into a deficit crisis.

After 12 months, however, the situation started to level off, which immediately affected prices. The tags on the shelves crept noticeably and in some cases abruptly down. What were the circumstances? Firstly, the market began to saturate: official distributors – by no means all of you noticed this on the left – soon realized that you cannot make good money with spare parts on cars. And they continue to do so, with great success.

The cargo goes around, through third countries, but it goes, and the still high price makes the company profitable. Secondly, the largest choice of various high-quality and not so good goods was brought “in gray”. The beginning of competition appeared, which immediately resulted in discounts – the discount was and remains the main lever of sales in Russia.

And finally, the third point is logistics. This was not only adjusted, but also expanded: according to the statement of the Ministry of Transport, the ports of the Far East are 70% loaded, while in December it was still 114%. Bridges and land crossings from China have finally paid off. And recently another argument appeared, which allowed us to hope for further price reductions.

The cost of a forty-foot container, which used to be $10,500, now hovers around $6,000. That is, the reduction of this cost item is more than 40%. Given the low cost price of goods from the same China, storage and logistics are an essential part of the price.

And since the last item has dropped so noticeably, the final prices of auto parts and other automotive and automotive items will begin to fall. It is impossible to give an exact prediction, but the announced trend should manifest itself no later than September, although it is very likely – thanks to marketplaces – that buyers will notice it much sooner.
