Money instead of potatoes: Avtotor increases workers’ wages

The Kaliningrad automobile plant, like the entire domestic automotive industry, was going through difficult times. But the company’s management was one of the first in the industry to overcome the forced downtime of conveyor belts, quickly moving from German and Korean partners to comrades from China. This not only had a very favorable effect on our car market, but also on the wallets of the company’s employees. So. From June 1, 2023, Avtotor employees will receive a salary increase of at least 20% and the amount of mentoring benefits will be increased. The salaries of technical and technical personnel will increase.

Remember that previous Kia and BMW models rolled off AVTOTOR’s assembly line. But after the flight of partners due to the events of February 2020, the company fell into a serious crisis. It even got to the point that, as a social support, the factory decided to allocate free land plots to employees: well, do not go hungry … We do not know whether the stocks of jams and “spins” obtained in this way helped to overcome the difficult survive period, with the main ideas of the company, this strategy, as you understand, little overlap. But, we repeat, the plant managed to get out of the hole by making agreements with “heavenly” partners.

And today in Kaliningrad the assembly of cars of three Chinese brands has been established. In addition, several strategically important documents were recently signed at the Russian-Chinese Business Forum in Shanghai. Firstly, the agreed plans related to the implementation of AVTODOR projects to establish the production of auto parts and electric vehicles, as well as increasing localization and further technological cooperation in the development of new types of products, including gas-powered cars, hybrids and other new energy vehicles.

Of course, all these plans require very different knowledge and skills from the staff. And according to Valery Gorbunov, chairman of the board of directors of Avtotor Holding LLC, the company will soon begin implementing a program to improve skills and retrain staff. Employees will have to master all technological operations on the assembly line. This will not only increase labor productivity, but also the salary of employees. In particular, Mr. Gorbunov states that “in 2024, taking into account the implementation of the production plan, the next phase of salary increase is coming (while all allowances, the 13th salary, bonuses and additional payments, as well as more than 30 types of social benefits remain and guarantees about )”.
