Representatives of the marketing company JATO Dynamics conducted a survey to find out which cars Europeans prefer to drive. More precisely, what the inhabitants of the Old World have enough money for. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” got acquainted with Western statistics.
The Dacia Sandero hatchback (in the Russian interpretation – Renault Sandero, which, however, is no longer sold here), turned out to be the bestseller of the market. At the end of April 2023, more than 18,700 units of the French model had been sold in Europe, which is 44% more than in the same period last year. The budget car is preferred by residents of Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
The second most popular was the German Volkswagen T-Roc, chosen by just over 16,700 people. The model showed positive sales dynamics and increased volumes by 19%. And the “baby” Opel Corsa closed the top three, with a circulation of 16,600 units.
The top five most popular cars in the European market included the Renault Clio with 15.8 thousand units sold and the Peugeot 208, which received the recognition of 15 thousand natives.
As you can see, they do not “fatten” in Europe, most often they choose compact models from the budget segment. However, people buy from us only affordable cars, represented by the domestic LADA and cheap “Chinese”.
