According to the administration of the department for the Samara region, the matter has already been discussed at the meeting of the representative of the plant with the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Samara region, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Ramiz Almazov. However, there is no official decision yet. At this stage, the problem is still being worked out.
This step was prompted by the fact that there is a shortage of personnel in the region. At the same time, AVTOVAZ plans to increase the assembly volumes of vehicles on the main conveyor by 28% from September, and from January 2024 the increase will be 40%. To do this, the company will need to hire 1,100 people in the first phase alone.
Now the personnel department is looking for representatives from 19 working specialties, including a mechanical assembly worker, a blacksmith puncher and a painter.
According to experts, up to half of the workers can be recruited from those convicts who will serve their sentence at work.
