At the moment, it is known about the assembly of cars of three Chinese brands in Avtotor’s facilities: Kaiyi, BAIC and SWM. Models include the Kaiyi E5 and BAIC U5 Plus sedans, as well as the BAIC X35, SWM G01, SWM G01F and SWM G05 Pro crossovers. The installation of the BAIC X55 crossover is currently being tested. So, according to Governor Alikhanov, by the end of this year, in addition to the listed cars, Avtotor assembly facilities will produce about 12 more models.

It is not excluded that many of them will have little demand for “electric trains” in Russia.

— I am very pleased with what I saw at the factories under construction, which will specialize in the production of electric vehicles, among other things. There the level of localization is very high. 80-90% of the components will be made in the Kaliningrad region, which is good news, – Alikhanov told RIA Novosti.

Thus, until 2025, the company received the right to import batteries from Korea and call them Russian.
