Why in Europe novice drivers are taught to open the door with the right hand
It is more convenient to open the door of a left-hand drive car with the left hand and right-hand drive car with the right, respectively. However, in the driving schools of the Old World, cadets are taught the exact opposite. We tried – complete rubbish, terribly uncomfortable. However, it still makes sense. And what, says the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

Wonderful are thy works, Lord! Well, who with a sober mind and a solid memory will agree to open the door with a distant hand? After all, it makes sense to use the right one if the “gate to the world” is on the right, and, of course, the left one if the door is on the left. It seems that the handle is conveniently placed and it is quite comfortable to get out. But Europeans are still taught in driving schools that you have to open it with the other hand and crawl into the gap with your face. for what? And, most importantly, can this information be useful to us Russians? How else can.

The fact is that Russia is just entering the narrow path of moral decay called “scooter / bicycle / unicycle”, along which urban planners, stubbornly ignoring traffic rules, rush at great speed in the same stream with cars. They are both pedestrian and driver at the same time, but they don’t have a license plate to identify the offender and then send a “letter of congratulations” or “entitlements” to be revoked. Therefore, the SIM driver has no fear, and therefore all the regrettable consequences.

But the driver has enough fears, into whose car a “techno-pedestrian” can get into at any moment at high speed. Compensation through insurance? Yes, what is – to get out of the situation innocent, otherwise they will write “clash” in the decision, and then settle in court who is against whom. And if in Russia the solution to this problem has not yet been found, then in Europe, where the fire has already flared up well, they have begun to take measures.

And what measures can be taken? Apparently to scare the drivers even more. For example, let them get out of the car by pushing the door with an “uncomfortable” hand, because in this position the body rotates and opens the best view of the road. That is, the chance that the helmsman notices a cyclist, scooter or unicycle and does not open the “gate” in front of him is much higher.

Jokes aside, the appearance on the road of a new participant in the movement should be reflected not only in the traffic rules, but also in the minds of motorists who are now forced to look around more often. Moreover, not only during the journey, but also when getting out of the car. After all, a new threat has formed on the road and there is still no one who can regulate it. It is better to open the door with a distant hand and look back once more than to sue for a long time in the illusory hope of getting money back for repairs.

And if this seems completely inconvenient and even impossible, then you can get used to at least looking carefully before going into the side mirror – this will also reduce the risk of a stupid accident.
