GAC, which started the certification process for the new GS8 at the beginning of this year, brought to Russia the first large batch of crossovers intended for “official” sales. This means that the premiere of the model that replaced the generation will take place very soon. And that is expected to be at the end of July.
Photos of the GAC GS8 “caught” in a Russian warehouse were published by our colleagues from Chinese Automobiles. These cars are equipped with a two-liter engine with 252 hp. with., an eight-speed “automatic” Aisin with an all-wheel drive. Until today, technical information about the crossover, aimed at the domestic market, was kept secret.
It’s too early to talk about trim levels and pricing – it’s likely their GAC rendering won’t be revealed until closer to premiere. However, you can buy the second-generation GS8 since the end of last year, when dealers began to ship these cars themselves on the “parallel” scheme. Now, judging by the ads on popular ads, they demand from 3,250,000 to 4,600,000 rubles, depending on the configuration and modification (there are also hybrids in the “gray” sale).
The “official” price probably won’t be any lower. It is possible that it even surpasses the “parallel”: such cases are known in history. Especially considering that the first generation of the model that GAC offers to Russian buyers today costs from 3 million rubles.
