British car experts have published a new rating of the most “vulnerable” cars, based on data collected in a survey of 25,000 motorists. Of course, the operating conditions of vehicles and driving style are different in Russia and the UK, but it is still worth paying attention to the results of the survey – especially for those who are just looking for a used car.
So, the most unreliable of all compact crossovers “walking” on the roads of Great Britain, local drivers called the Peugeot 2008 – they complained of problems with the battery, suspension and engine. As for the “family” SUV, in this conditional segment the Range Rover Evoque causes the most complaints. Namely the gearbox and electrical appliances. The owners of the Land Rover Discovery, which won in the large SUV category, also complain about the electronics, as well as the engine and multimedia.
As for the “passenger cars”, the Citroen C3 became the most unreliable compact car – due to frequent breakdowns of the air conditioning, braking system and engine. The same problems are observed with the Opel Astra – this model topped the rating of the most dubious hatchbacks. The leader among sedans is the Mercedes-Benz C-class, which annoys owners with battery failures. And the “gold” of luxury sedans is with the Jaguar XF: such cars are repaired for too long.
The British also went through minivans – Ford Galaxy scored the most “minuses”. And of all models electrified in one way or another, the survey participants named the Lexus RX with a hybrid power plant the most unsuccessful car.
