Logistic boom: from which countries are cars most often imported to Russia

Autologistics in the new circumstances is gaining momentum. Car hunger in Russia has not disappeared, but who will be the first to satisfy it? While official sellers disagree with officials on the terms of further work, the volumes of “parallel” deliveries are actively growing.

This is evidenced by the statistics actually published by the deliverers. As it became known to colleagues from Izvestia, in June 2023 Russians used services for the transportation of cars from other countries and regions three times more than in the first summer month of 2022.

At the same time, Avito Services analysts note an 18% increase in the number of transport companies on their platform. Usually cars are imported from neighboring countries of Armenia, Georgia and Belarus. Among other things, the delivery of cars from European countries, but also from China, Japan and South Korea has been intensified.

As for domestic transport, here the main volumes still revolve around the capital. Car transport routes to and from Moscow account for almost half (48%) of the total volume. However, the regions are gradually increasing their activity and the transport share is being redistributed in favor of the regions. For example, the popularity of deliveries from Vladivostok has grown from 8% in 2022 to 23% in 2023.

Thus, we see that the laws of economics still work in Russia. If there is a demand, there will be people who can meet it despite any restrictive measures. For the sake of profit, suppliers are willing to endlessly complicate logistics. Another thing is that all this ultimately has a negative impact on prices. In the first half of this year, cars in Russia have increased in price by an average of 8% compared to the reporting period of 2022.
