The leader of the anti-rating was the budget model of the Japanese Mitsubishi – Mirage sedan and hatchback. The accident fatality rate for these cars was 205 and 183, respectively. Fortunately, cars are not represented in Russia, although they can be ordered through gray import channels. But we don’t recommend it! Just as we do not recommend trying your luck in the American Dodge Challenger pony car, which is actively entering the Russian Federation through Georgia and Armenia. Accidents involving the legendary but ill-fated model have killed 154 people in recent years.
A little less – 152 – plunged to death in the cabin of the Korean Hyundai Accent, and 151 – under the iron of the American Chevrolet Spark. There is stable demand for both cars in Russia, especially in the southern regions of the country. Be careful! However, the Korean Kia Rio has become much more popular in our market. Only taxis on the road – seemingly invisible. Meanwhile, according to experts, “Rio” claimed the lives of 122 people in the specified period.
But the muscular Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Camaro, which also came to Russia under the “gray” schemes, “buried” 118 and 113 once happy car owners. Just over a hundred deaths are attributed to the Korean Hyundai Elantra, who is still loved and respected in our country. The American Chevrolet Malibu, registered in Uzbekistan, from where it comes to us, killed about 90 people, the vaunted Ford EcoSport – at least 84, and the beloved “Korean” in the person of the Kia Optima – 80. Experts called the models of premium Japanese and German brands the safest cars. Among them: Mercedes-Benz E-class and Lexus ES sedans, as well as BMW X3 crossovers.
These vehicles have zero fatalities in traffic accidents per 1,000,000 registered vehicles each year. It turns out that the most unsafe in the secondary market are the “Americans” and “Koreans”. Unless, of course, we do not count the products of the domestic auto industry, which a priori could not be studied by foreign experts.
