Autumn call: what threatens motorists today at a meeting with traffic officers
The least in the world we were waiting for the fall of 2023, because the next mobilization of the population was about to begin, along with the seasonal conscription in the army. It is clear: partial, increasingly reminiscent of slow, but permanent. In connection with a possible military escalation, police officers have also been transferred to a reinforced role. The AvtoVzglyad portal explains how this affects drivers.

Probably, only those who were not observed could not notice the increased number of traffic policemen on the country’s roads, the abundance of which – after mass layoffs and the widespread appearance of cameras that automatically record traffic violations – has somehow even become unusual. Crews are present not only on federal highways and outbound highways, but also on secondary roads connecting major cities.

Many traffic police officers received additional weapons: Kalashnikov assault rifles were added to Makarov pistols, and almost everyone was equipped with tablets connected to the bases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is noteworthy that the traffic police were forced to stand guard at the buildings of military commissariats to prevent terrorist attacks, and to accompany prisoners during investigative actions. As they say, out of harm’s way. More precisely – closer.

It is curious that in some cases patrols work in tandem – pickets are often formed by several vehicles of the traffic police. The stationary traffic police stations, covered in moss and cobwebs, also reopened their doors. Maybe not all, but a lot. At least in the regions. Inspectors mainly stop cars with non-resident and foreign license plates. Special attention is paid to cars from Ukraine, the Baltic states and Poland.

We believe that there is no need to explain the reasons for this increased interest. Law enforcement officials target, among other things, “heavy cargo” (particularly those whose bodies were not sealed when sent on their journey). Military personnel are also stealing large SUVs, embezzled minivans and even junk from the domestic auto industry, which in theory could have been bought for nothing for the purpose of committing a crime.

In addition, the roadside police have become more active near large objects of strategic and administrative significance, but also in places where large crowds are registered. As their own sources told the AvtoVzglyad portal, employees are not allowed to take the required vacation and are prohibited from leaving the city limits where they live and serve on weekends and holidays. You can be called to work at any time of the day or night. Let’s say more: law enforcement officers were even formally forbidden from getting sick. In other words, as long as you can stand on your feet, you will stay standing!

Meanwhile, law enforcement officers show civility in their dealings with motorists and even turn a blind eye to some minor violations. But if during the stop it turns out that the driver did not appear on the summons of the Military Registration and Recruitment Office and the decision to limit the “rights” is recorded in the uniform register of military registration, then the citizen will immediately be removed from driving the vehicle. Because the driver has no right to drive a car with an invalid driver’s license.

Moreover: such a “pilot” will most likely be held responsible for driving a car in the status of “disqualified” – liability for such a violation includes a fine of 30,000 rubles, or arrest for up to 15 days. But traffic officers are not yet allowed to deliver drivers to the Military Registration and Recruitment Office. However, no one prevents the authorities from prescribing the relevant standards in law. By the way, draft dodgers will also not be able to obtain or exchange a driver’s license, and at the same time they will not be able to carry out registration actions with the “iron horse”.
