According to the Telegram channel “Autopotok”, at the International Automotive Forum MANF-2023, representatives of “Avtotor” spoke about plans to launch mass production of their own electric vehicle “Amber” with frame panels in the fourth quarter of 2024. The Kaliningrad plant plans to locate the electric motor, gearbox, vehicle chassis and steering, as well as the traction battery, power electronics, bodywork and bodywork systems.
The budget for the development of a compact electric car already amounted to 481.5 million rubles, and the creation of a power plant testing laboratory required 427 million.
Avtotor noted that Amber is being developed for youth and car sharing; it is suitable for use in delivery services, network companies, social and municipal services. Kaliningraders especially emphasize that the platform on which the machine is built is their own development.
