The first “real Chinese” crossover in the AVTOVAZ model line, if it appears on the Russian car market, will only appear next year. Or it may remain an unrealistic plan for the leading domestic automaker.
The announcement of the launch of the LADA Especially considering that the head of the Tolyatti auto giant Maxim Sokolov last summer during the Russia-Africa summit promised to release this car on the country’s roads by the end of 2023.
November is drizzling outside with cold rain, but nothing is said about the LADA X-Cross 5. And we asked representatives of several major dealer networks that sell LADA en masse a simple question: when can we expect the LADA showrooms appears? Based on the experience of previous launches of models of the domestic brand, even ordinary employees of car dealers can name the approximate dates for the appearance of a new product in the showrooms at least a few months in advance.
Since proper staff training is conducted on the eve of the launch, information about the upcoming appearance of the model in warehouses is somehow communicated to employees, at least in general terms. But in the case of X-Cross 5, no such thing is observed. In all LADA branded stores there was complete silence and outright ignorance on the subject. No one has even any information about the timing, but about the possibility of the appearance of a new product.
It was recently announced that AVTOVAZ has patented the image of the emblem for its new crossover. The latter, as we know, is actually a FAW Bestune T77. In fact, according to unofficial data, a batch of 100 of these cars was recently assembled at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg, which came under the control of AVTOVAZ. But this clearly doesn’t qualify for a mass release. A characteristic detail: official representatives of AVTOVAZ flatly refuse to comment on this topic. They even avoid standard excuses like “everything is going according to plan.” That means one thing: it is not a fact at all that the FAW Bestune T77 will in principle appear on the Russian market in the form of the LADA X-Cross 5.
