According to the public page “Atypical AVTOVAZ” on the social network VKontakte, production of LADA Niva Travel cars equipped with engines of the Euro-5 environmental standard should resume before the end of November. Insiders say the SUV could also get its anti-lock brakes back in the coming weeks. Later, the factory plans to equip the classic Niva Legend with engines of the “fifth” standard.
In 2022, due to foreign sanctions against Russia and the subsequent shortage of car parts, AVTOVAZ was forced to switch to the lower Euro-2. The return of Euro-5 engines to the range started at the end of August. True, it has been gradual – so far only LADA Granta is equipped with such units.
