
In October this year, the production of passenger cars in our country immediately increased 1.6 times compared to October 2022 – 59.2 thousand cars rolled off the production line. However, compared to September 2023, the pace of assembly decreased by 8%.
According to Rosstat, from January to October this year, domestic factories produced 417,000 passenger cars – 8.1% more than in the same period in 2022. In the autumn, production of several models was launched – in September Moskvich began production of liftbacks with index 6, and Sollers began assembling ST6 pickups at the former Mazda plant in Vladivostok. In October, Kaliningrad Avtotor began assembling the BAIC X7 crossover and AVTOVAZ launched the Vesta Sportline.
By the end of the current year, a number of more factories previously owned by foreigners will be restarted, for example Isuzu in Ulyanovsk, the truck factory in Kaluga, previously owned by Volvo, and the former Volkswagen factory in the same area. In October, 16.6 thousand trucks were produced in the Russian Federation – 51% more than in October 2022 – and 2.9% less than in September 2023. During the ten months of this year, 134,000 trucks were produced – 17.6% more than in 2022.
