Let us not forget that the Finnish Nokian Tyres, which decided to leave the ‘hostile’ Russia, sold its local assets to Tatneft in March. All these months, a so-called transition period has been going on at the Vsevolozhsk plant, and now the official launch of mass production of tires under the new brand will finally take place.
The name Ikon Tires appeared immediately after the deal between Nokian and Tatneft was concluded, that is, in March. However, it took time to set up processes for applying the new logo to tire sidewalls. Therefore, during these months, unbranded tires were produced, which, as Ikon representatives told the AvtoVzglyad portal, did not allow the factory to close.
Now the transition period is over and tires are being produced again with a new logo. The first summer tires to go into mass production were the premium Autograph line and the mid-price Nordman line. Their sales will start in the spring of 2024. The last family will change its name to Character in the future.
Let us add that all technological processes and equipment at the plant have been preserved, and the raw materials are supplied by the same companies – from Russia and other countries.
