All Duma deputies want to replace their official vehicles from their usual foreign cars with Russian cars from the New Year. The head of the Duma apparatus writes about this in his letter to the regions represented by parliamentarians.
According to Vedomosti, the executive authorities of the Russian regions have received a letter from the head of the State Duma apparatus, Igor Diveikin, in which, citing the decision of Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, he proposes to transfer all deputies to cars of domestic manufacturers . from January 1, 2024. It turns out that in the regions the State Duma does not manage the fleet of deputies – it is managed by local authorities, which can decide on the provision of a car only upon request. It is formally impossible to choose a specific one – this is determined by the economic management of the administration or government of the region.
Last summer, Volodin said that all budgetary institutions and authorities are now obliged to purchase domestic cars, and in August the speaker discussed this with the leaders of five Duma factions.
– Everyone supports this decision. We agreed that the deputies would use the cars of Moskvich, Lada and Aurus,” he said.
Volodin later noted that the Duma had already started replacing the transport assigned to deputies in Moscow.
