The first deputy head of the faction “A Just Russia – For the Truth”, Dmitry Gusev, proposed adjusting the algorithms that determine the cost of a taxi ride.
As RIA Novosti reports, the deputy has contacted Yandex.Taxi and the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a proposal to pay attention to the work of dynamic pricing algorithms for transport services, which increase the cost of a trip depending on the ratio of demand and offer. Gusev notes that drivers refuse orders in an organized manner during rush hour to create a shortage of cars and thus increase prices. Then they accept the same calls, but at a significantly higher price, sometimes by multiples.
“I believe that the algorithms that determine the cost of a ride should be adjusted and not allow sharp price increases in the event of a massive refusal of the order by taxi drivers,” Gusev emphasizes.
The deputy also appealed to Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev with a request to “temporarily limit oneself to precautionary measures” when conducting inspections on compliance with the requirements of the Taxi Law. According to him, manipulations of drivers with orders and sharp price increases became possible due to a sharp decrease in the number of self-employed taxi drivers.
