Around Ladoga on Jetour crossovers: can the “Chinese” be trusted with a trip?

Representatives of Jetour say that the name of this Chinese brand is derived from two English words: jet (jet plane) and tour (respectively tour). And, of course, they were not chosen by chance: the company positions its crossovers as ideal cars for traveling – the most varied, long distances, with a large family. But is this really so? To find the answer to this question, the AutoVzglyad portal went to Karelia.

The Chinese brand Jetour (part of the Chery group) debuted in Russia in June 2023: and although it failed to repeat the stunning success of its sister brand Omoda, which literally “blew up” the domestic market, it still found its buyer . By October, that is, in four months, Jetur dealers had delivered more than 5,000 cars to customers. At least, this is the figure that company representatives gave in the fall.

And they consider this a good result, because the brand goes its own “victorious path” (this is how Jetour is translated from Chinese), and essentially does not compete with anyone. What makes it special? The Travel+ strategy focuses on a specific category of motorists who prefer to travel on their own wheels. That is why the brand probably did not “collaborate” with museums, conservatories or hockey leagues, but launched the “Travel Constellation” project.

Our trip to Karelia took place within the framework of this “Constellation”, and therefore, under difficult road conditions, we were able to test not only one crossover, but all three: Dashing, X70 Plus and X90 Plus. And there was plenty of time for that: in three days the expedition traveled around Lake Ladoga, visiting Saint Petersburg, Priozersk, Sortavala, Ruskeala Park, the village of Vidlitsa and the town of Lodeynoye Pole. The total length of the route is over 800 km.

As a result, I can say that Jetour cars performed quite well: traveling in them, especially the large X90 Plus, is comfortable. And all the details are in the video report you will find Here.

By the way, previously impartial observers from the AvtoVzglyad portal also regularly conducted city test drives of Jetour cars. So if you’re considering buying a Dashing crossover, check it out here, the X70 Plus here, and the X90 Plus here.
