The Duma is preparing a bill on a special procedure for the payment of mandatory motorcycle liability insurance for disabled people of the first group, children of disabled people or persons caring for them. They can get a 100% discount – that is, the “car citizen” will become completely free for them if the initiative receives support.
As the Prime Agency reports, citing the head of the State Duma Social Policy Commission Yaroslav Nilov, appropriate changes will have to be made to Article 17 of the law “On the compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners.” Now the first point provides a compensation of 50% of the policy costs. But if the bill is passed, children of disabled people, disabled people from childhood and disabled people of the first group (or caregivers) will receive a 100% discount on the ‘motor burger’.
“We will discuss it with experts in the near future and send it to the government for finalization,” Nilov emphasized, adding that this idea was proposed to him by representatives of this population group at one of the meetings. Other details have not yet been announced.
