While the Renault group confidently directed the Russian car giant in recent years, European specialists of various professions willingly got a job at AVTOVAZ. But now expats will have to return to their home country.
AVTOVAZ must say goodbye to all working foreigners by May 31 – according to the public “Atypical AVTOVAZ” of the social network UK, this is the fundamental decision of the new head of the company Maxim Sokolov. The assignment concerns specialists who have come via the Renault line, but who regularly work at AVTOVAZ. These are known to be present in almost all divisions.
It is worth recognizing that the factory workers themselves have long called for the “eviction” of foreigners: they say that the salaries of expats are much higher than their Russian colleagues, and that foreigners are given all kinds of preferences, such as office housing.
Now Russian specialists can take leadership positions. However, the question arises: will our engineers be able to resume production of Sandero and Duster without prompting from foreign colleagues … If, of course, such a restart is already planned.
