Why did China’s JAC abandon KamAZ and change his mind about becoming Moskvich
The main dream of our man is that everything will go by itself, without effort, work, hardship. Such a scenario is most reliably formulated in the Russian folktale “By the Pike’s Command”, where any idea is immediately realized, leaving Emelya in the warm nirvana of stove heating. The same principle, with elements of hope, is adhered to by the legislature, which is constantly trying to create a universal document that will solve everything in the country itself. This is largely why our laws are so extensive and vague and not about what they are written about.

But only one person in the country was lucky enough to implement the pike decree. Mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin. He wanted to revive the Moskvich car. And almost immediately I got what I wanted. There is no factory. There is no production. There is no design agency. There is no new model. There is nothing at all. And “Moskvich” – is. And not one, but four. Such a pike decree was not possible even in a fairy tale, and there goal-setting worked in a 1: 1 ratio – one wish depended on one luck. And the mayor of the city vaguely wanted one bearer of the name, but was given four options.

Admiring the photos at the last presentation did not cause a fabulous scandal. The expanded model range of the defunct factory turned out to be the Chinese JAC. All four “Chinese” showed the stale, antiquity and negligence so characteristic of a shoddy company famed for theft.

When JAC just entered the Russian door, it offered the buyer stolen Hyundai SantaFe I and Hyundai Sonata II, cloned at home using bypass technologies. The cars were remembered for geometric disproportionate errors, controversial driving habits and extremely low-quality iron, which rusted the moment they crossed the state border into Russia.

If you look for JAC in the ranking of the Chinese car industry, the track will be found with great difficulty. But in Russia and Belarus it is a protagonist. KamAZ is still tactlessly pulling the Chinese JAC to the lineup of its small-tonnage vehicles, having bought the entire N family on a turnkey basis, thus realizing its own pike command – had in the morning KamAZ a ready-made lineup of “compasses” of various carrying capacities.

Since the non-existent factory in Moskvich is managed by NAMI and KamAZ, has a director and living quarters, but lacks employees, competences and its own car, JAC has been appointed as the main executor of the pike command. But judging by the scandal that broke out, the Chinese frightened such magic. And while the press timidly understood the fairy tale, KamAZ managed to declare that all this was not true. And in a panic, JAC barricaded himself and cut the telephone wires.

The fact is that he has a factory in Belarus, which is perceived in the world as a company participating in a Russian special military operation. And open cooperation with KamAZ, which was subject to direct sanctions, makes the Chinese accomplices all the more so. Given the power of American retaliation, JAC is entitled to expect an imminent reprisal, which will inevitably lead him not only to an exit abroad, but also partnerships with Bosch, ALV, Dana, ZF, Cummins, Webasto, he gets cars that resemble real ones in many ways. And if the US sets foot in the door, the Chinese will be left without foreign aid, forced to revert to the previous theft of Korean counterparts. We are the only winners – a miracle happened before our eyes. There is no production, but there are machines. Or is it gone already?
