The Japanese brand’s official dealers were expected to receive the first copies of the novelty in 2022, and the car was originally planned to be delivered from Japan in parallel with the current generation. The Japanese have not and will not make any decisions, and the Mitsubishi division, which is vital in the Sakhalin-2 gas field, is frankly critical to the Island of the Rising Sun. However, the “car” we are interested in is still there: the factory in Kaluga is standing, even spare parts are not taken from Japan, what kind of cars are there. Well, officially they don’t. After all, the new fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander without run-up is already being sold on “the same bulletin board”. New car.

There are many offers, to say the least: they are presented as cars with minimal mileage, and none at all, in different trim levels. The price tag starts at 2,500,000 rubles for a “running” with minor defects and “rests” at 3,900,000 for a new crossover in the maximum configuration of seven seats, with a panoramic roof, red leather inserts in the cabin, a three-liter engine, automatic transmission, massage, keyless entry, 360 cameras and Bose “music”.

The equipment is rich, but something else is interesting: even if official deliveries start now, dealer cars will cost much more. Indeed, for a similar price, legit sellers manage to sell previous generation crossovers!

The general social explosion and the severing of old ties, along with the arrival of the same imports, will lead to the emergence of an unplanned form of competition in the new car market: officials with officials. And since price will always be the main argument, the latter have the greatest chance.

Simply put, to fully return to domestic “negotiation”, official representations will have to do what they don’t like so much: cut prices sharply. Or offer conditions for the purchase and subsequent maintenance, which one had not previously thought of. Alternatives to the above are not yet visible.
