AvtoVAZ promises, the Russian authorities try, and the Chinese do: results of the week

While AvtoVAZ builds Napoleonic plans, Chinese automakers are strengthening their position in the domestic market by presenting new and relatively affordable models. Meanwhile, Russian authorities continue to sell electric cars to citizens and offer to try out a “rough” service for presenting “rights” in digital format. And more about the main events of the outgoing week – in the video summary of the AvtoVzglyad portal.

The most discussed topic in recent days has been the partial mobilization announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Other events in comparison to this news fade, of course. However, something curious has happened that you should be aware of in the automotive world. For example, Chery held a Russian presentation of the updated Tiggo 4 Pro crossover.

The refreshed Chinese SUV is offered with engines of 113 and 147 hp. with., mechanical and continuously variable transmissions, non-alternative front-wheel drive. There are five sets. And already basically the car has a rear view camera and rear parking sensors, cruise control, keyless entry and engine start with a button, as well as a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen.

Those who do not yet trust the “heavenly” automotive industry can wait for new products from AvtoVAZ, and they really promised a lot. So, in the next 2-3 years, Volga residents will present a crossover based on LADA Vesta and a completely new family of sedan, station wagon, hatchback and SUV. It will not replace Granta in the lineup – it will exist in parallel. And closer to 2030, another model should go on sale.

But whatever the people of Togliatti are cooking there, the authorities are planning to switch everyone over to electric cars. It recently became known that the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation is now developing a project to allow owners of “environmentally friendly” cars to travel for free on high-speed roads.

Meanwhile, the traffic police are urging Russians to try out the new version of the Auto State Services application, which will have a “rights” download function from October 1. That is, it will be possible to show a driver’s license to traffic cops on the screen of a smartphone – just like it works now with STS.
