New car market soars, used cars scare with prices, and imported cars with variety: results of the week

The Association of European Businesses (AEB) listed the results of October sales: the Russian new car market fell by 63%. Meanwhile, second-hand cars amaze with rapidly rising prices, and imported cars – with a huge variety: more and more previously unknown models are coming to us. New car sales understandably continue to decline. In October, Russian dealers sold only 45,000 cars, but something else is much more interesting. First, for the first time in many years, Koreans did not enter the TOP-3 of the most popular brands. Second, Haval became the leader among foreign car manufacturers. Third, everyone worked in the red except Infiniti, which increased sales by as much as 50% before its departure, and Lifan, which left the country in the spring.

In general, the Russians did not really have a choice: products from the domestic auto industry and the “Chinese”. Although there are alternative options – the secondary market and the purchase of a car imported under the parallel import scheme. Moreover, the second seems to be preferable.
