The Russian activities of Nokian Tyres, including the tire factory, are taken over by Tatneft. The transaction amount is estimated at 400,000,000 euros. However, consumers need not worry – the company will continue to produce tires, the employees will remain employed, but the brand may change name.

Pyotr Zolotarev has been appointed as the new general manager of the Nokian Tires factory and the Nokian Tire division, which sells rubber. He once held a senior position at the infamous Yukos, headed the Russian Machines holding company and also worked as a director at Amtel-Vredestein and Rosvodokanal.

Rather, we recall that Andrey Pantyukhov, who gave the company almost 10 years of his life, was the head of the Russian representative office of the Finnish Nokian.

At the moment, the issue of changing the logo and name of products manufactured at the plant near St. Petersburg is being resolved. Nokian’s Russian office is operating as before, no staff reductions are planned.

It is worth adding that Nokian has been on the Russian market since 2005. Last year alone, almost 80% of car tires were produced in our country.
