Even the most ingenious tricks of unscrupulous gas station owners and employees become public and after some time are suppressed by regulatory organizations. But thieves are devising new ways to dishonestly make a profit. Portal “AutoVzglyad” tells about one of them.
Here’s another way to “save” gasoline and diesel, which are used by some gas stations! Roughly speaking, it consists in organizing a “hole” in the fuel hose of the column.
The essence of the “trick” is that when the fuel in the tank neck of the car rises (for any reason) to the nozzle of the filling nozzle, the supply is automatically cut off. It is known that in this case a small part of the fuel – something like 100 grams – is discharged from the column to storage. The more interruptions occur during the refueling of the car, the more such “drains” of fuel already paid for by the customer.
Of course, this effect only occurs if the gas tank is almost full. Or if air bubbles appear on his neck that impede the movement of fuel. For example, when the neck valve does not work, which is responsible for the free discharge of air from the tank. But not all customers-car owners fill up “full”. And a malfunctioning valve is also quite rare. Therefore, the cunning gasoline dealer is faced with the task of artificially increasing the number of cuts of the gun so that more fuel is returned to the tank.
This is easy to arrange. It is enough to organize air leakage in the filling hose of the fuel pump. To do this, a small check valve is integrated into it – so that it does not catch the eye. It allows air into the hose, but does not allow fuel to escape. When the column begins to pump gasoline or diesel through it, a stream of air enters the fuel stream through the valve. Once in the neck of the car’s tank, it gets stuck there in air jams, closing the tank nozzle.
Voila! Each car refueled in this way allows you to “save” one and a half liters of fuel. Of course, this method is not practiced by employees of the gas station, but by the owners. And on the capital’s MKAD, not a single gas station will indulge in such “tricks”. But on highways in regions far from megacities, where inspectors rarely look and all local and transit cars are forced to refuel, such a trick works and gives a good increase in the income of fraudulent gas station owners.
