What are the harsh state inspections of the shut down Toyota plant in St. Petersburg calling to us?
The incomprehensible gossip of state structures around the long-defunct Toyota factory died as unexpectedly as it began – as if by magic. However, she left an unpleasant aftertaste, which, however, has the most indirect relationship with the robbery of the enterprise itself. The AvtoVzglyad portal examined what problems, caused by foreign manufacturers who hastily left us, are still waiting for Russia.

A few days ago, the domestic media, which periodically turned on the running mode on the spot due to the lack of a burning domestic economic agenda, finally got excited and boiled over. The Toyota plant in Shushary, which has long announced the suspension of work and is currently undergoing a conservation procedure, was attacked like eagles and falcons by representatives of several government departments at once – the prosecutor’s office, Rostekhnadzor, FSUE NAMI, tax and labor inspectorates .

After making noise, grumbling, fantasizing about the true reasons for such a representative visit of the competent authorities to the prematurely deceased plant, the media soon calmed down, since they could not get any fried information from their own sources, and the company’s press service issued an unclear message: “The plant is undergoing an unscheduled audit for compliance with the requirements of taxes, labor laws, as well as import substitution laws, joint stock companies, technical regulations, industrial safety”.

Whatever the NAMI operatives, along with the security forces, are up to in Shushary, will remain secret behind the seals of the families, precisely until such time as they see fit to reveal their cards. However, whatever they hide, the broad masses are absolutely not interested.

Stop exporting equipment? Yes please. Rather, inventory it to send elsewhere? No problem. Evaluated for resale? God Help. Did you go there to plow, recultivate and plant a fruit orchard? Very good. In fact, the further fate of this plant (as, indeed, of all others left by their owners) is unenviable, no matter how you look.

We will not continue to produce exactly what the company was built for because we simply do not know what, how and by what means to make these goddamn modern cars. It seems that here they are, the coveted advanced technologies, asking for their hands – but no. It is not clear with which wrench, screwdriver or grinder to approach them in the worst case. And it seems that no one understands the hardware left to us, filled to the brim with artificial intelligence.

In 1747, Mikhailo Lomonosov hoped that handy and stubborn capable guys would come to his call.

Oh you who wait

Motherland from its bowels

And wants to see them

Which calls from abroad,

Oh, your days are blessed!

Be encouraged now

Show with your care

What can Platos possess

And witty Newtons

Russian country to give birth.

Today it is already 2022 and the Nevtonov and Platons are nowhere to be seen.

Therefore, all the enterprises left to us – be it AvtoFramos in Moscow, Nissan in St. Petersburg, Volkswagen in Kaluga, sold for a few rubles – have little choice. Or the billion-dollar equipment will be dismantled as obsolete, and then the new Chinese owner will install his own equipment in its place – albeit worse, but with which his people know how to work. Or techno parks will be transformed into techno reserves, where satisfied citizens will walk and relax. For an example of how famously this is done, you can go to the territory of the former ZIL plant.

However, there is a third possibility. Let all these robots and other industrial monsters rust well and then shoot the final scenes of domestic action movies there, with Hollywood a fig in your pocket. It is interesting what our grandfathers would say, who dragged factories from defeated Germany, not at all so that they would crumble to dust in a new place.
