It became known that in 2023 the former Nissan factory near St. Petersburg may resume car production. True, now under the control of AVTOVAZ. A similar fate previously befell the former Renault factory, which KamAZ took under its wing. However, as with the French acquisition, the assembly line of the Japanese factory will not be fully utilized. Here, according to the AvtoVzglyad portal, the same SKD assembly of Chinese cars is planned.
Perhaps, taking advantage of its proximity to Nissan, AvtoVAZ could continue production of X-Trail, Murano and Qashqai. But that’s definitely not going to happen. The fact is that the terms of the deal for the sale of the Nissan plant to FSUE NAMI implied that the Japanese retain all intellectual property rights, which in fact turned the assembly line into a very expensive warehouse of machine tools and equipment.
Most likely, therefore, AVTOVAZ will take a simple path and feed the Chinese pill to Japanese production in Russia. In addition, since the unconscious patient can no longer swallow, it is screwed into him from the other side using the slot on the tablet. And taking into account that JAC, Geely and Haval already have their own production facilities in the Russian Federation and the CIS, most likely negotiations are underway with someone else. The production of machines in the company should start as early as 2023. So maybe – right JAC?
