The transfer of enterprises from foreign tire manufacturers to the ownership of Russian companies continues. The Federal Antimonopoly Service now faces the task of formally approving the sale of the Russian company Nokian Tires to domestic oilmen from Tatneft. The details of the deal were sorted out by the AvtoVzglyad portal.
The Russian Antimonopoly Office has announced the receipt of applications from PJSC TATNEFT. In it, the oil company is seeking approval to acquire a 100% stake in the authorized capitals of Nokian Tiers LLC, Hakka Invest LLC and Nokian Tire LLC from Nokian Tires. Recall that in the spring of this year the Finnish tire manufacturer shut down production at its plant in the city of Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad region. Later it became known that Nokian decided to leave Russia completely and started looking for a buyer for its assets in our country. Last October it was announced that it would become Tatneft. The transaction price is expected to be around 400 million euros.
The Nokian Tires plant in Vsevolozhsk is considered one of the largest enterprises of this profile in the world. The capacity is 16 million car tires per year. Until recently, about 60% of the factory’s products were supplied to the markets of Europe, Canada and the US.
Tatneft controlled Russian tire manufacturer Kama Tires until 2022. Following the introduction of EU sanctions against a number of Tatneft companies, the latter sold its tire business to the Tatneftekhiminvest holding company, which is 49% owned by the Republic of Tatarstan.
