Putin banned the increase in car prices

Vladimir Putin instructed the government to take control of prices in the country’s car market. The president demanded that measures be taken to make cars more accessible to the people.

The relevant document has already been published on the Kremlin’s website.

“Make constant control over vehicle pricing to avoid their unreasonable increase,” says Vladimir Putin’s order.

The government is obliged to prepare a report on the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation and will have to report on the results on a quarterly basis.

“Take measures to increase the availability of cars for citizens of the Russian Federation by establishing a target indicator characterizing the increase in such accessibility in 2023 compared to 2022 and calculated quarterly,” demanded Putin.

Recall that in neighboring Belarus they have introduced responsibility for raising prices for various goods, including cars. I wonder if the Russian authorities are moving in the same direction?
