In the State Duma, it was again proposed to provide the opportunity to use the money of maternity capital for the purchase of domestic cars by citizens. The AvtoVzglyad portal describes the initiative.
“It is necessary to provide the opportunity to spend this money on the purchase of a car of domestic manufacture,” said Nina Ostanina, head of the State Duma Committee on Family Affairs, commenting on her colleagues’ idea to add payment to stand for housing and community services out of maternity capital.
At the moment, the amount of mother capital transferred to a woman upon the birth of her first child is 524,527 rubles. From time to time, the government indexes it according to inflation. This money can be spent on improving the living conditions of the family, on the education of the child, on the formation of the capital-funded part of the mother’s pension, on the purchase of goods and services for disabled children. Current legislation does not provide for the possibility of spending “child money” on a rusting and worn-out “self-propelled cart”.
Recall that the idea of \u200b\u200ballowing families with children to spend maternity capital on the purchase of a car has been repeatedly put forward by government and business representatives: in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2022. As a rule, the initiators of these proposals justify in this way their ability to introduce billions of rubles “frozen” on maternity accounts into the country’s economy.
