First of all, it should be noted that last year a number of factories restarted and continued to meet contractual obligations. Among them: Nokian, Yokohama, Continental and Pirelli. The latter, by the way, even announced that it did not intend to leave the Russian car market. In addition, some brands have announced the launch of their new products. Especially Cordiant and Continental.
And as the AvtoVzglyad portal was informed by the Nokian press service, “the fact that there is a shortage of tires in the Russian market is not true: the production capacities of Russian tire plants, including the Nokian Tires plant in Vsevolozhsk, have enough potential to meet the needs of the Russian market.”
It should be remembered that the activities of the Finnish brand, including the tire manufacturer, will be taken over by Tatneft. However, this does not mean that consumers will lose their favorite “shoes” for their “iron horses”.
“Nokian Tires in Russia produces summer and winter tires for premium and mid-range cars and SUVs. The Vsevolozhsk plant will continue to produce these types of tires under another brand after the transfer of ownership,” Nokian’s press service told AvtoVzglyad portal.
