Toyota crossover for 2,000,000 rubles: what to buy instead of RAV4
Regardless of the generation and characteristics, visual component and fuel consumption, Toyota RAV4 was one of the three most popular crossovers in the domestic market. The halo of “reliability”, which has remained in the distant past, the image of the brand itself and the high resale value regularly attracted whole rows of buyers of the car. But then Toyota left “Russia unwashed”, and the price of “Ravchik” skyrocketed. However, fans of the model already have another more affordable option.

As of now, dealers are empty: those willing to marvel at the monstrous price tags, as well as those willing to overpay, can be counted on their fingers. The hype subsided, purposeful buyers closed their demand in the middle of last year, and “doubters” cool their enthusiasm at the level of calculating the monthly payment.

Having slightly rethought the old socialist slogan, let’s say: a new car is a luxury, not a means of transportation. The ranks of even loyal supporters of Russia’s most respected car brand, Toyota, have swung. Buy yourself a Japanese new thing so that you do not know problems for many years, “not only everyone” can not.

Parallel imports slightly improved the supply of Land Cruiser Prado and the “big Kruzak”, but prices are still exorbitant. They don’t buy cars. And what about the once iconic RAV4, which for some reason is not from the Emirates and Kazakhstan? Not profitable or no question? The latter is hard to believe, the crossover score in Russia is too high, so the first argument is probably expensive. Especially against the background of another Toyota car, which through the efforts of “gray imports” is actively climbing into the “Ravchik” niche. His name is Toyota Rush.

Like most cars of this class officially purchased in Russia, Rush is mono-drive, that is, with a single cardan on the rear axle. It is equipped with an extremely reliable 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 105 forces, a traditional “automatic” without Toyota Rush “CVTs” and “robots”, and a four-speed gearbox.

Technically, this is a very old car, to which the interior decoration also hints: quite simple, without frills and modern trends. Even the leather interior is a rarity. The radio’s seven-inch screen, which is only Android-friendly, and only plastic. But Rush is a full-fledged seven-seat car, which allows you to use the trunk even with the seats on the gallery unfolded.

Another important advantage that is extremely relevant now: Rush is a very simple machine in the unit with a minimum of electronics and extremely archaic units. Toyota mechanics, with whom we discussed this crossover, unanimously stated that now it is not possible to find a more reliable and simple car. Some versions that come in for service even have rear drum brakes.

The cost of a new car – read, with a range of up to 1000 km, but with a full set of documents – fluctuates around the mark of two million rubles. That is, Toyota Rush in other trim levels is cheaper than LADA Vesta. The most affordable crossover, which is now offered on bulletin boards, costs 1,900,000 rubles.

And this is a full-fledged Toyota – and even an old, pre-reform model of that time when cars were built by engineers, not marketers, and the 300,000 km mark meant only the middle of a life path. And there are more and more such cars on the road: after all, most car owners in Russia need to drive, not discs.
