And in the United States, far from European political and economic problems, the “law to reduce inflation” began to work on January 1. It gives a lot of preferences to companies registered there, which are engaged in the production of electric trains, among other things. But here’s the problem: almost half of the world’s production of “batteries” for them is concentrated in China! And for some time now they have been trying not to be friends with China on the North American continent. That is, Chinese batteries for patriotic electric cars manufactured in the USA are “zashkvar”, haram and other “fu-fu-fu”. The American car industry is faced with the question of whether batteries are available to complete its electric cars.

In addition, LG Energy and General Motors recently postponed negotiations (within their joint venture) on the construction of a battery plant in the United States. Because of the Koreans, who ‘started turning their noses’. And all because now only in South Korea you can get a decent amount of batteries for electric vehicles of non-Chinese origin.

“Three Korean battery suppliers are the only opportunity for global automakers to produce electric vehicles under the US Inflation Reduction Act,” Chung Won Sook, an analyst with Hi Investment & Securities, told The Korea Times.
