Bypassing sanctions: how Russia is solving the problem of scarce car parts
As soon as the official distributors and suppliers refused to receive “poisonous” rubles and slammed the door loudly, less principled sellers came to the warm and familiar place. Yes, and large companies – those who publicly shake for their reputation – immediately confirmed that with some dexterity money no longer smells. How the new logistics routes are arranged, through which caravans with approved spare parts pass in a continuous flow, the AvtoVzglyad portal tells.

China, of course, is good and great. Our big eastern neighbor did not get hysterical, and the new bridges and crossings were ready “in time” for the turn of the hut: to the forest (or rather to the reserve) – back, to the east – before. Most of the spare parts were replaced in just a few months. True, for the most part – analogues: with the originals everything is much more complicated.

The Emirates, one of the first to benefit from the sanctions hysteria, has become an extremely useful and important source of scarce parts. Oils, filters, consumables and repair units with “ligature” on the box immediately appeared at the service station. And dealer, and the poorest. Much “official” is still imported there. Expensive, long, but reliable. And the choice is rich. However, one should not think that this is the only route – if it is blocked, the industry will not collapse completely.

News that trade turnover between Russia and Georgia tripled last year sparked public outcry. Has the harvest of grapes and other fruits, and specifically the fountain of medicinal mineral water in 2022, broken all records? Hardly. It is more likely that a mighty stream passed through the Transcaucasus, designed to meet the needs of the Russian economy in general and citizens in particular for sanctioned goods. Including car parts.

This suspicion is reflected in the extreme accuracy of the Georgian authorities, which are in no hurry to take the position of Western countries, although a few years ago the controversy was completely different. The opposite. As a gift for the right choice – the opening of direct flights, which will undoubtedly revive the rickety tourism of the Transcaucasian Republic. Summer is coming, people should fly to the sea!

With car parts, especially bodywork and “safety”, things are difficult: there is still a serious shortage on the market. And not only for European, but also for Asian brands – Japanese and Korean. However, the situation is gradually leveling off, the warehouses are starting to fill up and the shelves are still expensive, but there are already positions that were simply not available yesterday. Not really.

The conclusion is simple: take care of the car as the apple of your eye, don’t take any more risks, because the restoration will be expensive and take a long time. And if the accident happened, it’s not worth tearing your last hair. Although the spare parts problem is still acute, it is already being resolved.
