Resale is actually the only available option for buying a car right now. After all, you can’t buy a new car: prices are too high and loans bite. Yes, and availability is a vague thing: cars are for sale today, but not tomorrow. Therefore, most of those who have cash and want to update their “park” apply in the hope of finding a suitable copy for free advertising.
And what is the most common request among Russian drivers? Of course, the intersection. Preferably a well-known brand, and even reliable and unpretentious. The Renault Duster fits this description perfectly, but the prices for the “French” of different years are skyrocketing. Be it his cousin Nissan Terrano! Essentially the same car, but much cheaper. It’s just that you can’t buy it.
The AvtoVzglyad portal talked to the head of one of the dealers and found out something extremely curious. Some cars – from those now sold on the secondary market – are almost impossible to repair and restore. There are no spare parts. And the most “dangerous” on this list is precisely the fruit of the union between Renault and Nissan – the Terrano crossover.
Since this model was produced exclusively for the Russian market and was not produced anywhere else, with a stop – sorry – the rethinking of the house plant, Terrano fell into a “spare part vacuum”. Even a minimal accident – damage to the bumper, headlights, radiator grille – leads to the need for a close study of disassembly. It will not be possible to buy a new part today or tomorrow: production has stopped, warehouses have dried up.
It is logical to assume that Renault’s befriended tandem Kaptur and Arkana will be next on the blacklist. And don’t rely on Europe: the old-fashioned Captur is vastly different from ours – it’s even built on a different platform. “Arkana” is the meat of the Russian meat.
Parts for Renault cars are still available, but shelf updates are not expected and sellers are actively looking for alternative suppliers. Whoever learns to stamp body parts for French cars first will become rich. Meanwhile, components, assemblies and consumables come from Europe, but they are extremely expensive – the cost of maintaining a car has doubled at least, which must also be taken into account when purchasing.
But Datsun owners have nothing to worry about: body parts for the “pseudo-Japanese” match their native LADA, so they will always be available. Unless the sparse grille needs to be replaced with a similar one with a tower, which, however, will not affect driving performance and safety.
