Experts told how to prevent the collapse of the OSAGO system

Some time ago, the Central Bank (CB) of the Russian Federation proposed to allow insurers to calculate repair costs under OSAGO at the prices of analogues of original spare parts. The AvtoVzglyad portal found out how this backfires for car owners in today’s reality.

Today, when determining the average price of spare parts in reference books, the cost of both original and non-genuine parts is taken into account. But the traditional method is no longer relevant due to the departure of many foreign brands and the increase in the cost of auto parts.

Let’s explain why. The current method of calculating the average price of spare parts only takes into account the cost of those “non-genuine” items that cost at least 30% of the price of a branded part. Accordingly, there are many analogues that are produced in the domestic and Chinese market.

In the current situation, when original spare parts are not available or unreasonably expensive, it is important to rely on the prices of their counterparts. Especially if they are produced in the same factories and according to the same quality standards.

Also, the proposal of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation will contribute to the further development of domestic auto parts manufacturers. After all, otherwise the non-genuine parts produced by them cannot be used at all in the repair of cars under OSAGO.

“If, therefore, the proposal of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation takes effect, the situation will no longer hurt our citizens’ wallets,” explains Pyotr Shkumatov, coordinator of the Blue Buckets Society movement.
