Russia may be abandoning electric cars in favor of hydrogen cars

In our country, cars powered by new energy sources may appear en masse. The technology of their production is already owned by FSUE “NAMI”. And the scientific center will continue to improve its technical base. We assume that this will make it possible to obtain serial innovative power units based on hydrogen fuel cells in the future.

FSUE “NAMI” is a leading national engineering center, which already provides a full production cycle for the automotive industry. This was stated by Nikolai Schmidt, deputy director of the organization, at a press conference dedicated to the upcoming Comtrans trade fair for commercial equipment in Expocentre.

Recall that the center’s most famous development is the Aurus executive sedan. Not only does it have a commercial version, but also a prototype Aurus Hydrogen. There’s no heavy V8 engine and no automatic transmission, and the traction battery is quite small. But there are hydrogen cylinders, an electrochemical generator and an inverter. That is, the sedan is quite heavy.

However, if the installation is made more compact, it can be integrated in both a passenger car and a commercial vehicle. What will give impetus to the development of “green” vehicles. We do not exclude that the company will show its merits in this area at the Comtrans fair.
