The government is in no hurry to carry out President Putin’s “automobile” orders
Agree that any official who failed to carry out the order of the Russian head of state should at least fly out of the civil service faster than his own screeches. But when it comes to the domestic auto industry, nothing like this happens. And even vice versa. For example, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov still holds office despite the fact that three months ago he flatly ignored Vladimir Putin’s order to head the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

So, in November 2022, at a meeting with members of the government, the President of the Russian Federation demanded that Mr. Manturov make cars more accessible to Russians.

“I would like to draw your attention to the need for constant control over pricing so that no one misuses or unreasonably raises the prices of automotive equipment under the guise of these difficulties, which we all know, including with logistics,” Putin said at the time. told his subordinate.

In response, the Deputy Prime Minister promised to fulfill everything, illustrating his efforts in this direction through the action of the state program of preferential auto loans. More than three months have passed since then. And what do we see? The program Manturov talked about doesn’t really work anymore: there’s no more money in the car loan budget. The state now only sponsors fans of the strange electric cars assembled in Russia. The rest of the cars do not have to become cheaper, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. From the point of view of the bureaucrats, they are more than accessible to the masses.

Note that the high cost of auto parts, caused by their shortage, drives up the cost of finished cars with a powerful “jack”. Their cost reduction could be facilitated by organizing the production of components in Russia. For these purposes, the “Strategy for the development of the automotive industry of the Russian Federation until 2035” set 2.7 trillion. ruble. However, some time after the president’s order, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce also corrected it. As a result, the planned expenditure of the treasury was reduced to 300 billion rubles for R&D and the creation of domestic production of components – that is, they will bring in nine times less!

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce continues to pretend to be deafblind and mute. Although they are well aware that after foreign suppliers of components left Russia, their domestic competitors immediately raised prices for their crafts. Sometimes sometimes all over again, increasing the price of Russian cars.

At the same time, the “Chinese” strictly keep prices for their products at an exorbitant level: you can’t buy a new car from China for less than 2 million now. For example, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro costs at least 2.6 million rubles, while at home, in terms of our money, it is sold for 800,000. Even taking into account customs duties and logistics costs, such a car should cost no more than 1.5-1.6 million rubles. Thus, for each vehicle sold of this model, the brand “burdens” about an additional 1 million rubles.

Who, if not the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its head, Mr. Manturov, should not know about this? They are certainly aware of the situation there, but they are not doing anything to increase the availability of cars for Russians. So they are actually spitting on a direct order from Putin. Are the instructions of the head of state really an empty slogan for them? The president – says, the government “caravan” – is it coming?
