What malfunctions in a car can be traced using an ordinary piece of paper
You will be surprised, but armed with an ordinary piece of paper, you can diagnose a car at home. In addition, to identify “sores” directly related to the main unit in the car – the engine. Do not you believe? Now we will tell you.

To begin with, perhaps about the so-called magic sheet of paper. In fact, you will need the most ordinary piece of paper – even from a notebook, even A4 size. It is more important that the vehicle to be inspected has been warmed up to operating temperature with the engine before operation.

So we take a piece of paper to the exhaust of a moving car and just observe. If the paper folds smoothly, then the motor runs smoothly, like a Swiss watch. But if the blade swings unevenly in different directions, or worse, gets sucked into the muffler, that’s cause for thought. And especially that the engine can run on a lean mixture. It’s possible that the gas valve may also “run out” or “miss” the ignition, or even burn out one of the valves. In general, there is little good about all this. More precisely, nothing. But for sim, “swears” don’t end there.

In the event that droplets of gasoline are found on a piece of paper that is brought to the muffler, you should again pay attention to the ignition system. Because such a sign only says one thing: the air-fuel mixture is excessively enriched.

However, it is much worse when drops of antifreeze appear on a piece of paper. What does it mean? Coolant simply enters the fuel system and, as a rule, through a damaged cylinder head gasket. Less often – due to the appearance of microcracks on the head itself. If the malfunction is confirmed by a specialized specialist, then the case is bad. Just a little more, and the power unit will go to the landfill.

But drops of engine oil on a piece of paper will tell you directly that the lubricant “runs” through the cylinders with force and power. There are several reasons for this phenomenon. For example, there were problems with valve guides or – God forbid – the valves themselves. It is much worse if the piston rings are worn or “lying down”. Wait for trouble! It is much better if there are problems with the crankcase ventilation or if oil is simply poured into the engine. In general, as you understand, the paper will withstand everything, but the engine will not.
